Hey there Rick,
We've been running ours for over a year now. I'll say this...the more
they run, the better they behave. But as Roger stated, they're not
nearly as consistent as a dedicated proofing system and to use one as a
"proofer" you really have to be on top of it. With frequent calibration
(Lut generation/validation and color adjusts), I can say that our color
output off ours is within an average 2-3 delta E of the original output
when we got it up and running (that's without ICC profling). Proofing
off the Indigo can be done, but likely only with very frequent
calibration and profiling...and for consistency during a run, color
adjusts may be necessary to keep things in check. It certainly has
limitaions from a proofing standpoint, but its pretty impressive to hand
a customer a color accurate, two-sided completely bound catalog as a
"proof". For press side, I'd still favor an inkjet though.
