I have seen a web page write-up about replacing the tube in an Apple
Cinema Display and the conclusion was ... ain't worth doing. Seems the
price of the labor involves brings the cost up to the price of a new
display!

My 1st generation 30" Cinema Display is beginning to show it's age.
Acquired a ColorEyes (DTP94B) & CE Display Pro software recently
which made a vast improvement, but I'm beginning to see a significant
yellowing at the left & right edges... extends about 3" towards the
center.
Anyone familiar with how a standard fluorescent tube darkens with age
at the ends will understand.
I've been using this display (almost) daily at work since I acquired
it back in December, 2004(?).
(May have purchased AppleCare... need to research that.)
Anyone else have anything to describe about how their's has (or
hasn't) held up?
Can these displays be brought back to "almost" new specs with a new
tube install?
(For less than the price of a new model @ US$1,800?)
