For many years I have been using Profiler Pro and a SpectroCam. The
Spectrocam is a versatile, good instrument but alas, it is not supported
by popular software anymore. I would like an instrument that can read
ambient, emissive, color patches, as well as doing the standard monitor
calibration and printer profiling. I probably don't do enough printing
to justify the need for an iSiS or icColor.
In the next few months I will be updating old computers with Mac Pros;
new Epson printers (and can anyone tell me why one should but a 4800
over a 3800?), 24" wide format too; new flatscreen monitors--perhaps
Eizo (even though my Barco 320 is still going strong); and of course a
new spectro and software. I'm going to do this over a period of months
in a logical and manageable sequence. Got my first Eizo S1931 ordered
for my old G4 which is all the resolution that old (but right now my
newest) computer can support without a new graphics card. That's why the
spectro will be next (my old Spyder won't do). Comparison of EyeOne Pro
and DTP94 accuracy on this forum a short while back, was convincing as
to the better accuracy of the iOne. Any disagreement? But perhaps I
should wait for X-Rite's new software, as has been suggested. (I wonder
how long the wait will be). I still have not made up my mind on all of this.
Thank you all kindly for the helpful responses. Any further comments
will be much appreciated.
Best regards,
David

I don't know how much profiling you do but I'd consider the Eye-One
iSis, Monaco PROFILER and ColorEyes Display Pro with the DTP94
bundle... In my world, I tend to need both packages. While I prefer
Monaco's profiles and feel they are superior to ProfilerMaker's,
ProfilerMaker has the better supporting cast
I second Terry's recommendations on all points. Couldn't have said
them better myself.
