Now I have a lot of experience in exactly that and I can assure
you that the resolution on an HP Z2100 is somewhat better than on
an Epson 78/9800 in this particular respect. This is especially
noticeable in the rendering of small fonts (positive an negative
which "grow" on the Epsons but not on the Hp's) and in Dotproof.
An HP z2100 will do around 175lpi at a higher quality than an
Epson 7800 wil do 150lpi (as in sharper and more accurate dots).

If true, that's good news. The information I received came from
Compose--outdated, perhaps? What printer resolution were you using
for this test?
