High Resolution Scans

Hello all:

Some years ago I got one of the first 35mm scan from Nikon, LS-4500 if
I remember well. The instruction manual, that I can look for, tolds
something like "pitch" in reference to the relationship between the
physical size of each sensor cell and the optimal obtained resolution.
It usually forced to largest size of scaned image, something hard in
the MO 128 disk. And three passes, one for each filter, in red, green
and blue. The secret word was "pitch". It helps?
