Marc was indeed a great guy (still is!) and was a good resource for myself and colleagues.

I for one wouldn't mind if he landed with a competitor of X-Rite. Perhaps he could do for the competition what couldn't get done at XR. Marc had (has) lots of great ideas about the direction of some of their software products but it appeared to me that it fell on deaf ears perhaps.

I think there's already some viable competition to their software (PerfX, Heidelberg, perhaps others) and there's some new kids on the block that have competitive hardware products. We'll wait and see what happens in the coming months.

Regards,
Terry Wyse

The big lay off that shocked me the most was Marc Levine who is a frequent poster here on the ColorSync list. Marc came on board when X-Rite bought Monaco. He was the product manager for both Profiler and ProfileMaker and was very knowledgeable about color theory and was well connected in the reseller channel. I can imagine having to let people go but not people like this.

Marc will no doubt turn up somewhere else - hopefully for X-Rite not with a competitor!!!
