I don't know if it will happen soon. I think it's
related to marketing and politics. I still remember
that iPhoto (6) would always assign CameraRGB
to any file with sRGB specified in its EXIF.
On the other hand, files with other colour space
specified in the EXIF's were respected.

Gamma 2.2 is PC. sRGB is PC. It may be too hard to
swallow by Apple.
