The Spyder 3, the huey and now the ColorMunki all offer an
"adjustment" to the ambient light; especially the huey was advertised
with this feature. You would think that a *color* management device
would adjust the white point to the ambient light, which, if this
really worked, would make sense. Instead, they alter the *contrast* of
the image according to the ambient luminance. If you want to work in
earnest, this is junk, because in contrast (no pun intended) to the
white point adaption of the human visual faculty, there is no such
thing as "contrast adaption". It's a marketing spin that only hurts
the idea of color management IMHO.
