That's not clear to me. There is Final Cut and Final Cut Pro. I

This shows just how tenacious (and dangerous) the gamma selection is
on the Mac.
For reasons of historical fairness you should add that this is a very
typical Mac problem.
The Mac was the first color-managed platform of importance, and it
used 1.8. Then, as in so many other cases, came the PC, and it begged
to differ and used 2.2. As the PC market overwhelmed the Mac market by
numbers, the Mac had to learn to "survive" in a PC-driven 2.2
environment, and now it is blamed for the compatibility bridges it had
to install internally to make this work. Yes, if the Mac did
everything as the PC, we'd have no such problems. Only that then there
would be no Mac ...
