Kevin,
Those people are a waste of the consultant's time. They like things as they
are? Fine. Let them have it that way -- and move on. They will not
understand what they are missing, so there's no need to feel bad for them.

Well...yes! (That Homer Simpson expression comes to mind...) And on the
other hand certain things about it are measurable based on the 1931 CIE
Standard Observer data. And as such can be quantified and controlled.
If perfection is what we are trying to attain, we'll be constantly
frustrated. On the other hand, if we are seeking a fair measure of control
and predictability based on reasonable premises, with CM we have a
serviceable tool in our hands. Could be better? Yes? Is it useless? No.

If you are in charge of people involved in a color-managed workflow, they
can either be part of the team (i.e., study up and get serious) or go find
employment in any of the many shops that still welcome with open arms those
who think that color management is a nefarious plot hatched by pimply geeks
headquartered in squalid basements in their parents' homes. To which I
respond: to each his own, and may the best survive.
