Ed,
I recently purchased the HP DreamColor LP2480zx, and although this is NOT
the same class of display, it is in my opinion an indication that lately HP
is paying a LOT more attention to their display market. This is a market
segment in which they would truly like to be a major player, and they've hit
the ground running. I chose the LP2480zx over an EIZO! Partially out of
curiosity, but also because of the expanded color gamut (I was part of a
group purchase from Chromix). I have not been disappointed.
I don't know much about the ViewSonic product line, so I'll leave those
comments to anyone else familiar with them. But from my own personal
experience, I'd look long and hard at the HP.
Bob

Subject: Newbie Question re: Monitors
Need to calibrate and use for Photoshop.
Currently looking at these <$800 units:
ViewSonicR VX2835wm 28"
HP LP 2475 24"
The ViewSonic is bigger, the HP 2475 is new.
Thanks for your input.
