Intel Macs and Monitor Calibration

I am running a Mac Pro with a Dell 30" display.

I have an Eye One and Spyder 2 and 3.

Everyone told me I had to set the calibrators to 6500 to get a match to a
5000K viewing light.

This was true with the Spyder 2 and the Eye One.

However, with the Spyder 3 the display was too blue.

So for the heck of it, I set the Spyder 3 to 4700K to match my 4700K Solux
viewing light. Bingo. Dead on.

So, the Spyder 3 is compatible with Intel Macs and seems more compatible
with the 4700-5000K viewing lights besides.

Anyone have a similar experience or know why?
