Fwd: Epson and Leopard

I thank Tom for his input re Leopard profiles. To reiterate, though, this isn't about Leopard. Printing on anything other than glossy paper from Tiger (10.4.11, specifically) to my Epson R1800 produces unusable results with a superabundance of cyans and blues in very dark image areas.

Epson US has only started posting drivers for Leopard in the past few months. Previous to that they we're indicating that the drivers were Leopard compatible, but they weren't. When you got to the OS print window there were no driver options (like paper type and color management prefs). My rule of thumb is that if the driver wasn't posted after 10/2007 it's not leopard compatible, regardless of what driver description says (this is for the Epson US website).

The new, actual, Leopard drivers work correctly in my testing of the 3800 and the 2400. I haven't looked at the 1800 or 800 yet.
