I just had a moment....figured I'd put in my 10 cents worth (inflation rages
on).
As a note to anyone considering getting a new photocopier....I have to say
that Canon makes nice hardware and has pleasing pricing, but Canon always
seems to include a $^#&*$@@!@! Fiery rip. To the common man this almost
always spells color management failure. Period.
EFI folks have told me that the best way to color manage a Fiery Rip is to
put another RIP "in-front-of" the copier Fiery, thus color managing
up-stream. Great. Wow.
Xerox offers the Creo Spire and the EFI Splash. Both of which can be easily
color managed. Yes, you have to do on-the-glass calibration twice a
day....but that is standard for any copier (at least, in the past).
If you want to want to have success where your competition has failure,
choose Xerox....it is more expensive...but powerful, fast, color manageable
RIP options make it worth it.
