As a note to anyone considering getting a new photocopier....I have to say
that Canon makes nice hardware and has pleasing pricing, but Canon always
seems to include a $^#&*$@@!@! Fiery rip. To the common man this almost
always spells color management failure. Period.

Once upon a time, not too long ago, Canon used to sell a Digital Ideas/Colorstar/Colorbus RIP specifically for proofing (at least in Australia, UK and Europe). Many were sold for magazine and newspaper proofing. [ Canon U.S. never got over their allergy to Colorbus after some poor SGI based products releases, even when there was practically no connection between the "old" and "new" Colorstar owned Colorbus and the Windows NT based RIPs.]

Unfortunately the company and product is no more,
and I guess Canon will reap the result in the proofing arena.
