Assuming you have a profiling package and Photoshop, why not create a
new profile at your desired ink limit from the TR001 data set (or
whatever data set was used to create the profile). If all you have is
a profile and not the data that created it, you could still derive a
text file for profile creation this by using say ColorThink Pro
wherein you could open an IT8 reference file (or one of your choice)
in a worksheet, assign your higher-TAC profile using abs col
rendering, then export a text file. Generate a new profile at a lower
TAC and our done. ColorLab is another possibility, as is Martin
Orpen's PatchGetter script which will grab Lab data from a target in
Photoshop. A number of possibilities for the budget color
manager...some more accommodating than others, but as mentioned, for
quality results, device-links are recommended.
