Hi Peter,
I agree with the specific case you mentioned (flattened
transparencies, etc.), device link is the solution.
My point was only to reduce TIL for individual images likes photo in
a book or catalog for example.

graphics with the same colormanagement strategy. For this case, you
need high quality devicelinks.
If You only have an individual image for optimization, an ICC
reseparation does in most cases a good job.
