We're laughing our hearts out but, a few years ago, Mark Fairchild vowed to
embark on a project where he would go out to some known landmarks, like
Yellowstone Park or Ottawa, to record naturally-lit scenes with his digital
camera, in RAW, of course. But he would also record with a CS-200
colorimeter, all the colorimetry of the scene and its GPS location. And,
once he has all this data, he would turn around and share this wealth of
information with the color community as a whole in the form of some web
site. So anyone with an interest in color science could download his images
and use them in some research work. So, you see, my dear Watson, the mix of
GPS data and photographic data could prove a lot more useful than we think.
Isn't there some new Nikon 13.5 megapixel that now incorporates a GPS?

You know what? With this unavoidable of convergence among everything
electronics and digital, I wouldn't be surprised to find Nikon or Canon to
come up next year with a compact digital camera with an integrated wireless
phone!
