Apparently is a (probably) clever mechanism for optical brighteners
compensation based on the eye-one isis double measurement capability
(with or without UV filter).
Does anybody has any information about this new "technology"? I
believe this is the first sound announcement from Xrite for
professional color management since the merge with GM
Personally, I think it's a bunch of hooey. They've had optical
brightener correction at the software level in Profilemaker for a
number of years (since v5). As for the iSis, myself and several
colleagues do this as a matter of course with the iSis where you use
Measure Tool to capture both UV-cut and No Filter measurements in a
single pass through the instrument and then average the two sets of
readings at the end. It's a piece of cake and does a nice job.
If this "new technology" and the ColorMunki is the best they can do
since the merger, it's pretty sad if you ask me. Still waitin' on the
merger of ColorPort and Measure Tool. Still waitin' on the merger of
ProfileMaker and Monaco Profiler.
