Thanks for bringing this paper to my attention - I wasn't aware of it.  I
hadn't realized that others in color/Graphic Arts had reached the same
conclusion. Do you know approximately when it was presented (no date in
pdf)?

I found this statement rather interesting:

" ... it has been shown ... that the original meaning of UCR was lost about
25 yrs ag ..." (pg 18)
