There is not ability for users to track who did what prior to another touching it.,


Well....there is the ability . It's mostly the will that's missing. As long as the idea that we all work independently of each other rather than part of a joined up workflow persists , then the lack of communication will persist.


For tracking who did what , there is the use of ICC profiling , the ability to use "read me'" files , metadata and JDF to mention a few solutions .

It would also help if those on the receiving end of files could be a little more specific about their requirements in order for those supplying to hit the target accurately ...the communication has to be in both directions.
