Steve,
I need to know what would happen to our color management if they
came in and
pulled our Macs and replaced them with PCs.
'Fraid that after all the hyperbole, the honest answer is: Nothing.
If you're just using standard applications like Photoshop and
Illustrator and Indesign and whatever and creating files that have
color profiles embedded in them and sending them on their ways to
RIPs and the like, Mac's and PC's work identically. The files the
applications create and the profiles they use are all completely
interchangeable.
What I'd be much more concerned about is fitting it all together and
making it work through Vista. Unless they've got supplier who can
make some XP machines, I'd call this a seriously bad idea. I don't
have a client in any industry who would attempt to fit all the pieces
such an endeavor would likely entail together with Vista.
