Firefox 3 now has a plug-in for color managed windows with ICC profiles,
just I could not get it to install.

Type
about:config
in the adressfield
Afterwards type
gfx.c
in the searchfield
than change in the two lines
gfx.color_management.display_profile
and
gfx.color_management.enabled
the value to
true
That's not quite correct:
gfx.color_management.display_profile is a string, not a boolean property.
Its Default value is an empty string in which case the systems global
profile is used. If no global profile can be found, sRGB profile is
used. To specify a custom display profile,
gfx.color_management.display_profile can be set to the full path of this
profile.
To make a long story short: all you have to do to enable colormanagement
is to set gfx.color_management.enabled to true and restart Firefox.
