If I may go slightly off topic -
It's clear from the above replies that the state of Raw color
management is still in flux and users of the Raw conversion process do
not have a clear model of what their equipment is doing.
The ICC digital photography working group is presently asking camera
manufacturers, and others, to provide input about how they would see
interoperable color management for Raw data, while preserving their
own proprietary differentiation. Anyone (camera maker, Raw converter
author) who would like to provide information on this topic would, I
believe, be welcome to come to the June meeting. My impression is
that there is a second issue which is implicitly on the table which is
in what space or colorspace files should be encoded.
