Thanks to everyone who responded! The NEC is specified as 102% NTSC... Pardon my confusion, but is there a simple way to compare that to something I'm more familiar with, such as sRGB or AdobeRGB or another space like that? I wasn't planning to use it to watch movies (though it sounds like it could be good for that).

There is no info (as far as I can see) re. the backlight type in the NEC announcement, but I trust Roger Breton's statement that it is CCFL (inferred from the announced description perhaps?) Nevertheless, I am surprised by this, since I thought LED technology was gaining momentum following Apple's new MacBook displays.
