I need to understand something regarding LCDs that have ratios over
1:600. Such as 1:1000, or even 1:3000.
Using i1 Match 3.6.2 with i1 Pro, I have needed to dumb down
contrast, to, say, 35 (%). I do set luminance to 70 cd/m2. ( I
got this from my earlier training using CRTs.) If I don't do this,
then the curve in i1 Match 3.6.2 leans heavily to the left and does
not leave the left for about one square.
I set the monitors of the clients I print for and work with, the same
as all my monitors.
So, what recommendations does the list members have for my cd/m2?
My clients' monitors are all kinds. My own monitors are three
extremely inexpensive LCDs plus my "gold standard" 2060u. As well as
the MacBook Pro 17 inch with LED back light.
I am confused about what you write, Steve:
Open the ColorSync Utility and find your printer under 'Devices'. Set
'Generic RGB' for the profile for your printer. Make sure you set it
for the particular paper type you are profiling (and selecting in the
print driver when you print).
Also, set the printer as the default printer in Leopard's printer
setup tool.
My printers are: Pro 9600 with matte black ink, and R2400, again,
with matte black ink. I could not find generic RGB when looking at
the profiles provided when clicking the down arrow.
OS 10.4.11, except MacBook Pro is 10.5.2.
