Mark,
I will see what can be done for DTP94 support since, like you say, many
still use and like this device. Adding an instrument to PatchTool is easy
(in principle!); for instance the Spyder3 was recently added.
But PatchTool is not "limited" to display measurements! ;-)
You can use PatchTool to average, re-order, convert, or compare your color
lists (cxf spectral data, CGATS file or other text files). In particular,
you may want to compare your measured results with reference data and get a
lot of statistical info on the differences.

Unfortunately, from what is said on the Babel website, their software does
not appear to support the Monaco Optix XR (DPT94) - without buying another
puck, cuts me out of it, and the great many people who use this excellent
colorimeter.

Mike,
I don't have any experience with the Color Navigator software, but you
can
use custom RGB and Lab lists with Danny Pascale's PatchTool to test your
monitor profile. The procedure is described in pages 42-49 of the
"PatchTool_Help.pdf" user's manual.
I believe that the way to "validate" the monitor profile (if that is the
correct term, which is debatable) is to open a custom CGATS RGB or Lab
list
in PatchTool, then launch the "Display Check" command (Tools > Display
Check).
To check the monitor profile's internal reliability, I think that one has
to
set the monitor profile as both Source and Destination, with either RGB
or
Lab lists; if one wishes to use a Lab list as just *external* reference,
I
believe that in that case the source profile should be set as Lab.
If Danny is reading this, he can possibly either confirm or correct me.
Thank you.
