I'm looking for people with experience on Kodak Approvals using 3333
Donor set matching SWOP with Device Link Profiles from Kodak. We use
a Nexus RIP to apply curves and DVL.
You may know SWOP is now using L*a*b values to determine pass/fail of
proof. Now, I dont know about you guys, but these numbers appear to
say this proof fails a pass, however the Kodak Rep does the salesman
equivalent of shrugging his shoulders and refers us to measuring dot
gain and density. Not cool, IMHO. Please take notice of the 3 Color
swatchs at the bottom of the chart...

Given what I know about color management, it does not suprise me that
3 Color 50% (C-50%, M-50%, Y-50%, K-0%) is way outside of tolerance,
and may never be hit. However, I'd like feedback from fellow users of
Kodak Approval/3333 Donor/DVL as to what their L*a*b values are and
if they receive values more in-line with SWOP specifications.
Please reply direct to my email (and colorsync group) as I receive a
daily digest.
