Wise and rational as your words may sound, that's not the point.
X-Rite is defaulting on a responsibility that they inherited along with the merger -- which is to tell us what they are going to do with these children from a previous marriage -- what is their future: the orphanage, perhaps?
Yes, in the meantime we don't just sit idle. We use what we have, clearly. But, if the ColorMunki is the best we can expect, the most "compelling" product offered to those of us who work in professional-level profiling, sorry, but I'm not impressed, and it doesn't fill me with too much hope either for the future of *professional* profiling packages from this company.
But, again, any hard conclusions are premature at this point, since we are not being told much -- which is the point I was trying to raise.
