See, I'm having trouble following this conversation, because I don't expect
things to work without a hitch. At this point, and after years of working
with color management, I take for granted that nothing should be taken for
granted, if you pardon my paradox.
Color management is a huge beast in full growth, and no one manufacturer or
developer has a bead on it. So, it no longer upsets me too much to see that
this or that application has a way of implementing it that strikes some (or
many) as being deficient, opaque, seemingly contorted or poorly documented.
We're all in a learning phase, including those who make the tools we use.
Let's not expect that things will work by just clicking a couple of OK
buttons, and we'll avoid a big source of frustration.
