Hello all:
A few things that I think are true.
We can at this moment shot art with A or D lights because almost all
the standard software agree ICC, without any filter or difusser (some
can use polarizated lights and lens). I am talking about DNG Profile
Editor, Adobe DNG converter for those cameras that have not DNG option
in RAW mode and the targets of particular preference. Better
hardware/software, more expensive hardware/software.
In the recent past, film age, curators can work with 4X5" slides and
up, with an accurate light conditions. Today their work depends of a
good monitor, well calibrated, or a good copy, I supose now. The
profile is important. But for the press, including exachrome, ProPhoto
lies.
Manage all the necesary files with all the necesary profiles is a
storage problem.
DNG Proflie Editor don´t work with profiles, but Camera Raw does.
If you use profiling software have to avoid color management, so the
profile you have to asign in Raw Camera isn´t important, but, wich one
is the best?. If I select ProPhoto, what realy happen at open the file
in Photoshop?, nothing, a generic RGB as in Photoshop preferences.
The tools are on the working bench, but it seems have to be handmade.
What about Foveon in the sistem?.
Sorry for my English, and, perhaps, for my short knowledge.
