This has been a marvelous exchange. I was about to jump in when I
read Ken's message. The follow up exchange from Marco and Ken has
helped me tremendously by finally putting to well said words what I
have been trying to explain to clients for several years, i.e. the
impossibility of making sound editing decisions on colors that you
are not actually seeing. Hell, just trying to explain to someone that
the colors on the monitor may not represent the colors in the file is
next to impossible.
What I would like to do, with the permission of the above mentioned
gentlemen, is to save this exchange and be able to hand it out to
come clients who are having difficulty with these concepts (with
attribution of course).
