sRGB and AdobeRGB are both good spaces to edit as well as perform
color
conversions. Neither is inherently "better" than the other at either
task.
But look at it this way, if Adobe RGB can encompass sRGB would that
not fit the definition of better?
Again, it's a decision that must be made according to the nature of
the
work, the destination of the finished art, and the comfort level and
expectations of the user. In other words, an informed decision that
cannot
be prejudged before all the elements have been considered.
This may be the traditional rational of color spaces for working in,
but the point that I am trying to get across here and the point that I
have been trying to get across to people for many years is that WHAT
is the best working space to use to repurpose files. The big problem
in a production environment is knowing where the files came from and
where are they going to. A lot of times people do conversions without
knowing what the files are going to be used for. Nature of the work is
subjective and it's often repurposed for many uses. Even expectations
are subjective because a lot of times most don't even know what they
are looking at.
This is the reason why I ask -
which color space is better?
