Take at look at the UPDIG guidelines <http://www.updig.org/>.
In it you will find that it is recommended that when you deliver files, you
include a READ ME file with all relevant information, including embedded
profiles, etc.
<http://www.updig.org/guidelines/delivery.php>
When you receive or request files from other sources, you should be specific
and include exactly what you expect to receive.
<http://www.updig.org/disg/index.php>
<http://www.updig.org/disg/generator.php>
By doing this, you show others that they can trust what you gave them, and
you make it clear what you expect from them. If there is anything they don't
understand in your READ ME, then chances are this will be the catalyst for
the necessary dialog. This is good practice and a great way to help simplify
the guessing game.
