Hi Klaus,
I remember a discussion sometime ago about blurring the images before using
tiffgamut could improve the gamut boundary calculation. I just examined the
applescript you sent and I didn't find any blurring in the code.
Graeme implemented popularity filtering in tiffgamut in the meanwhile
and this is even better (much easier to "dose") than Gaussian Blur. An
alternative or supplementary method to apply Occam's razor to the gamut
can be downsampling the image as it better correlates with the effects
on the gamut volume than Gaussian Blur an has the positive side effect
to speed up the gamut calculation. That's on my to do list for upcoming
GaMapICC versions.
Could you please explain this point? Did you perform any test with blurring?
Yes, with blurring, downsampling and some denoising filters. See the
Argyll mailing list archive for details.
Thank you for posting this package!
you are wellcome :-)
Klaus
