As an end user I despise your efforts.
Keep it tough, make it harder. Make it more expensive.
Do anything in your power to prevent my competition from adopting it.
Cheers,
Curtis

Please pardon me while I vent my frustration over the continuing

That pretty much sums up the feelings that the consultants on this
list had when we started our businesses (many of us over a decade
ago). Welcome to our world.
You'll want to find a balance between billable time with clients and
time spent with software and hardware manufacturers helping them
make their products better. I try to be a good steward for the end
user and send detailed suggestions (complete with UI mockups) to
manufacturers so that they might make their products more intuitive
for the common user. Face to face dialog, when possible, is always
good. Beta testing is exhaustive work but when done exceptionally
well, is beneficial for all in the long run. One has to pick and
choose areas to donate to and make a living at the same time.
Recommending smart, elegant solutions that work well with a minimal
amount of user intervention is a big part of bringing color
management to the masses. Color consultants absorb the headaches so
others don't have to. Making it (relatively) easy for other people
is satisfying work. Cheers!
