What do you mean by "see"?
I have access to camera profiles.
OK. It should be clear by now that this is not what it's about.
ACR/LR, nope, and its not necessary
Says who?
I posted information about a review of camera profiling. For the usage
of camera profiles, it *is* necessary.
Of course, you might not be interested in camera profiling, but then
that's the wrong thread for you ... ;-)
We've got a DNG "Profile" (Looks) editor now. Just what doesn't that
provide?
Uhm - did you read what I wrote? I clearly stated that my tests
revealed that it doesn't provide the quality that ICC profiles can
provide.
What you *can't* do is make ACR automatically assign an individual
ICC camera profile to an image *instead* of using an Adobe default
profile for the camera used when you convert the RAW file, but that
would be the crucial step for an ICC color management workflow for
cameras.
Actually you can assign any profile you wish to rendered images.
Yep, that's trivial, but again, this is not what I referred to. It's
not about assigning a profile after the rendering, but during the
rendering, as I said: *instead* of the Adobe default profiles.
That's also not at all useful.
It might still be useful (the situation might be comparable to the
profiling of JPEG only cameras, which can only be performed after the
first rendering took place already), but it's certainly not optimal.
OTOH, my tests showed that camera profiles that are correctly used are
definitely useful (as long as you find a clear improvement in color
reproduction "useful").
Bye
