The Colorchecker SG has white squares in the center and along the
edges
Only in the edges with the version I used, but anyway, no need to
check this manually - good profiling software analyzes this data for
an automatic compensation, and judging from my measurements, does so
with excellent results.
I tested two (well actually more, but two are relevant here) target
lighting variants:
a) 2 studio flashes in 45 degree position -> even lighting, but
probability of a color temperature mismatch because of 2 flashes used
b) 1 studio flash in 45 degree position -> uneven lighting (RGB
230-242 for different white patches in my case), but only one color
temperature
Turns out that b) delivers the slightly better profiles.
