Michael,
Edmund provided a set of facts that illustrated his point. To reiterate,
the process by which the profiles were built were problematic. Replying
"Are you sure?" brings no logic and no new information to the group.
Using the word 'facts' is nearly always a problem. And one of the first
things an education teaches one is to question so-called 'facts' - as Mark
has just done. 'Results', 'observations', 'conclusions', etc surely only
become 'facts' when they have been verified by others.
So replying "are you sure" is asking for that confirmation that your
observation, ......... is borne out by others and could therefore be up for
consideration as a FACT. If no further confirmation is forthcoming, then the
'fact' can be considered as unconfirmed. It is just as important to know
that as it is to have it confirmed.
Bob Frost.
