Running GMG SemiMatte paper through an Epson 9880. Everything apart
from patch A22 is incredibly tight.
I'm getting 1,04 on A22/1,57 avrg. Using same paper and a GMG Rip on
HP z2100.
1.57 average? You ought to get yourself a 9880 and a cheaper RIP ;-)
Let's have an Ugra/Fogra competition, I'll start:
My earlier problems with the darker patches looks to have been caused
by the paper profile.
The readings above use a paper profile built from the same data set
using ArgyllCMS. The original profile was made using Profilemaker. I
also built profiles using PrintOpen and Binuscan -- none of them would
work as well as the Argyll when using EFI's iterative calibration
routines with the Shoo-In tool. The PrintOpen and Profilemaker
profiles weren't good in the shadows and fell apart after 3
iterations. The Binuscan profile was OK in the shadows but gave me
really bad readings (8+ dE) in yellow primaries and pretty bad cyan
and magenta readings too.
I hadn't realised that there could be so much variation using the same
source data :-(
