Hi Richard,
I'm generating some profiles for a Xerox Phaser 7760 and I'm using the
following settings in PM5:
- Black start 20 (to reduce salt and pepper effect in light tones)
- Black curve GCR4
I choose these settings by inspecting the Xerox canned profiles neutral
curves using ColorThink. These settings are a safe start point.
The other settings are default: LOGO Colorful gamut mapping, paper-colored
gray, D50 light source, etc.
I'm generating my own test chart in PM5 and I'm using 3 A4 pages (more or
less 2500 patches).
Best regards,
Lorenzo

My question is...
For toner-based devices, what is a good CMYK test chart to use and
what is a good starting point for ProfileMaker's Gamut Mapping (e.g.,
Separation... settings)? I realize this will take a little
trial-and-error--I'm hopping the expertise on this list can reduce
some of the error part...
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Richard
