Photoshop CS4 DeviceLink CMM Engine

I am using the new Convert to Profile using Device Link in Photoshop CS4 and
notice under Conversion Options a new Engine:
DeviceLink CMM
(along with the regular Adobe (ACE), Adobe CMM, Apple CMM)

Can anyone explain what this engine does differently than the others in
converting from CMYK to CMYK?
