Hi Hanno
A ³pre-lam profile² and a ³standard² profile could be two different things,
no? A ³standard² profile being a Gracol/SWOP/ECI Profile, while the pre-lam
profile would look weaker and less saturated as it does not yet represent
the final laminated product (assuming that the goal is to match the source
³standard² profile). So if a model were to be created to predict the
changes, it would need to apply an opposite effect of post-lam¹s gain and
saturation to the ³standard² profile, so that post-lam prints appear as the
³standard² profile predicts. Wouldn¹t this model then be applicable only to
the specific type of lamination used (not to mention ink/paper/screening)?
I¹m sure what you describe could have value, but surely the most accurate
results would still come from custom characterization of pre- and
post-lamination and appropriate conversion from the ³standard² source
profile.
