Dan caldwell of ICS just confirmed what I suspected. Here's his email to me.

That is correct Don. Remote Director includes Unevenness Correction Mapping (UCM) capabilities as well as virtual 10 bit (V10) to provide 10 bit viewing on any 8 bit display.

Currently ICS is vetting the need for a desktop product that would use these technologies without the weight of an entire collaborative proofing application. The application would provide calibration and viewing in a window that employs verification, UCM, V10 and read and write the XMP meta data as defined by the GWG soft proof ticket. www.gwg.org

If anyone thinks they would buy a desktop utility offering monitor mapping that works seamlessly in front of Photoshop please put pressure on Dan to make a product we all can afford.

I've asked him a hundred times but he's not going to make it just for me.

Dan
