The big issue with non-uniform monitor color is soft proofing which some
companies make their living from. I've tested just about every high end
monitor available in the U.S. And none of them pasted muster except the NEC
for screen uniformity. All were 30 inch units. Even the Eizo CG301W is now a
5K paper weight when it comes to soft proofing. Most monitor manufactures
are reluctant to guarantee monitor uniformity.
So how can you accurately soft proof with the abysmal state of color
uniformity on monitors today?
