I agree with you100% if you do soft proofing / remote proofing to go to press.
The monitor for me is not my final destination, the inkjet print is and spending over 2-3K for a monitor that still not give me 100% wysiwyg to match my print in a real world viewing conditions meaning not under a GTI viewing booth does not make sense to me either.
Yes I agree paying 1800.00 for a god lens then spending 200-300 on a display is probably not a god idea either.
I am just trying to quantify on how much "better" is the 1300.00 display like the NEC 2690 over the 600.00 display like the hp or dell's wide gamut offering which offer 100% AdobeRGB gamut also.
What I am learning about all of these monitors is just like getting a good "copy" of a lens Some out of the box are good and some are not even though they are all the same model.
