Actually, I have successfully profiled a few Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP units
using a DTP94. These monitors, while not comparable in quality to the
high-end Eizos or NECs, cover almost the totality of AdobeRGB, yet the
results were excellent (good neutrality, no banding, smooth gradients).
