Hello Mr. Gill,
Yes, the ColorChecker SG does not come with reference files or values. The best method is to create a reference file for your chart. I have published the spectral data for my chart at http://rmimaging.com//spectral_library/library_index.html .
A similar condition also exists for the new ColorChecker Passport. To remedy this I have also measured and published spectral data for my Passport at the same URL. In addition, I have a technical report about the Passport that can be accessed from the home page of this site. Interestingly, four of the patches in the ColorChecker Classic portion of the Passport have been reformulated from the currently shipping individual Classics.
Back to the point. I, too, am perplexed by the way the SG and Passport have been released without data. This is especially odd since the SG's predecessor, the DC, came with a CD containing reference colorimetric data.
