I too noticed slight differences in my color perception between my right and left eyes years back, particularly when looking at 35mm slides through a loupe held up to each eye. A bit frustrating at the time, as I was a scanner operator trying to make fine adjustment to match the original, but could get contrary "opinions" from either eye (not too mention that the brand of loupe actually made a difference as well). I brought this up with coworkers and most people I worked with had similar disparities between eyes..
I actually think this is very common as the macula of one eye could be slightly denser than the other, or one macula slightly "yellower" in pigmentation than the other.
For this reason, I still recommend that samples be swapped from right to left and back again when viewing two hard copy samples side by side. It can make a difference.
More profound is that if there exists differences in macular density/pigmentation between the eyes in our head, the differences between people must be greater.
