Is there a known list of "common" applications that don't behave
properly?  For example, it seems to me that Safari displays images the
same as Preview.  While not surprising, now I'm worried about which
applications do the right thing and which do not.

Thanks! I haven't had any luck so far searching them, but I'll keep trying.
